Ilham Aliyev congratulates Irakli Kobakhidze and Georgian people on Independence Day

The Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, congratulated the Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on the Day of Independence. The letter has been published on the President's website.

The President reminded that the countries' relations originated from the will and intentions of peoples of Azerbaijan and Georgia, who had lived in good neighbourliness and mutual understanding.

He noted that the relations between Baku and Tbilisi based on mutual trust and support took on a new dimension, developed successfully and enriched themselves with new content.

Ilham Aliyev stressed that the strategic importance and jointly implemented projects not only served the interests of the peoples of the two states, but also played a key role in Eurasia.

The President expressed confidence that the efforts of the authorities of both countries aimed at expanding ties in all areas would continue successfully for the benefit of the peoples, as well as for the sake of stability and security in the South Caucasus.

In conclusion, the President wished Irakli Kobakhidze health, success, and the Georgian people constant well-being and prosperity.
