President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met today with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on further development of the cooperation between the two countries and peoples, which are connected by historical, religious and cultural roots. Ilham Aliyev and Ali Khamenei stressed the importance of joint efforts in ensuring security and stability in the region, before this issue was raised at the meetings of the heads of state.
The parties noted that the agreements signed during the visit will contribute to a more active development of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in all fields and strengthen their bilateral relations, Trend reports.
