President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in the Egyptian capital of Cairo today.
Ilham Aliyev held a one-on-one and expanded meetings with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed a number of issues and signed bilateral documents. In particular, agreements were signed in the fields of energy, investment, economics, transport, sports and innovative technologies.
Following the meetings, Ilham Aliyev and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made press statements.
The Egyptian President said the Azerbaijani President's visit will serve to strengthen the countries' bilateral relations in various fields.
He noted the two leaders discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
"Egypt is committed to ensuring stability and peace in the South Caucasus," Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said.
