President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received credentials of incoming German Ambassador Michael Kindsgrab.
Kindsgrab passed along a guard of honor and then presented his credentials to President Aliyev.
Afterwards, President Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.
Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of continuing the political dialogue, based on mutual trust, between Azerbaijan and Germany, and added that there are good opportunities for cooperation in energy, transportation, security and other spheres, Trend reports.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Kindsgrab said he received clear instructions from German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the development of bilateral ties.
Kindsgrab noted that Angela Merkel and Frank-Walter Steinmeier show great interest in expanding ties with Azerbaijan, which is a stable and developing partner country.
The German diplomat said he will make efforts to further expand the cooperation that exists in politics, economy, energy security, culture and others.
