President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by chairman of the BP Board Helge Lund, according to the Azerbaijani presidential press-service.
The long-term successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and BP was hailed at the meeting, the role of oil and gas industry development in diversifying Azerbaijan’s economy was also underlined. The sides also hailed the importance of the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in Baku and the regions.
Noting he last visited Azerbaijan in 2014, Helge Lund said that he had eye-witnessed big development processes in Baku since his last trip.
Saying that September 20 would mark the 25th anniversary of signing of the Contract of the Century, Lund emphasized the role of this project in terms of the development of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.
