The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline project will be implemented only in case of the interest of many countries in it, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
He recalled that in this project the republic is a transit country, which is ready to provide gas transit for its partners in the Caspian region, if they take over the gas pipeline's construction.
At the same time, he noted that this issue had not been resolved yet, since there was no certainty with its funding.
Ilham Aliyev focused on the fact that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and the Southern Gas Corridor have been built over the past decade, while the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline project has been under discussion all this time.
Let us remind you that the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline will supply gas from Turkmenistan to the EU countries in transit through Azerbaijan and Türkiye. It is planned that gas supplies via this pipeline will amount to 10-30 billion cubic meters annually.
