Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will visit Moscow this year, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov in Moscow.
According to the diplomat, Moscow and Baku will exchange a number of official visits, including at the highest level. "We think that there will be a visit at the level of the Russian Prime Minister (Dmitry Medvedev) to Baku," Interfax cited Mammadyarov as saying.
"Most likely that the visit of our president (Ilham Aliyev) to Moscow is also expected," the minister added.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister noted that the issue of Aliyev's visit to Moscow was considered during talks with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov yesterday, but specific deadlines are not yet known: everything depends on the schedules of the Presidents.
