Foreign gymnasts love to come to the Baku tournaments, Azerbaijani gymnast Ilya Grishunin said today in an interview with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the Baku World Cup in Trampoline and Tumbling.
“I have many foreign friends and they all are very fond of coming here. I myself really like to perform in these walls. I like the atmosphere on the arena, I like the location of the dressing rooms, entrances and exits - everything is very convenient. There is almost no competitions at such a level, on such a huge and so high-quality arena anywhere in the world. That's why foreigners come here to compete with great joy, ”he said.
“I can even see it in their eyes. Nobody bothers anyone, everyone has their own place in the hall. Volunteers always help showing directions, and there are no problems. The Mercedes cars carry athletes, everything is done on time. I believe that Baku is number one in the world in terms of organising the global tournaments,” Ilya Grishunin said.
The World Cup in Trampoline and Tumbling is set to run from February 16 to 17 in Baku. Some 200 gymnasts from 30 countries will take part in the championship.
