Russia's journalist Okhran Dzhemal, director Alexander Rastorguyev and cameraman Kirill Radchenko were killed in the Central African Republic on July 30. The tragedy was reported on July 31, the information about the accident is still incomplete.
It is known that the killed journalists entered the country with tourist visas without the proper accreditation. A spokesman for Central African Republic's government, Ange Maxime Kazagui, said that the journalists were shot dead at a roadblock by a group of about 10 men who wore turbans and did not speak languages commonly used in CAR.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, urged to punish the perpetrators of the killing according to the laws of war.
Kadyrov also expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and expressed hope that law enforcement agencies and the Russian Foreign Ministry will do everything possible to ensure that criminals are punished.
The head of Chechnya added that clarifying the religious affiliation of the guilty does not make sense. "They were shot not by Muslims, not by Christians, but by criminals, bandits, regardless of what organization or agency they represent," he stressed.
A military observer of the TASS news agency, retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin, speaking with Vestnik Kavkaza, called Okhran Dzhemal a very peculiar person. "He was harsh, categorical. Nevertheless, he had his own opinions, I treated him with respect - although I almost never agreed with him," the expert explained.
Victor Litovkin suggested that to some extent it was special traits of character that resulted the journalist's death. "He did not always listen to sanity. It should be understood that a person should not visit such countries as the CAR without security, there is a great chance of encountering corrupt people. I think that the driver ambushed them - it's no accident he does not have a single scratch, but all of its passengers were killed," the military observer pointed out.
"I express my deep sympathy and condolences to to his family and friends," the expert said.
