India and Syria have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the field of security.
On Saturday, the Indian Minister for Foreign Affairs Mobashar Jawad Akbar visited Syria to meet with the President Bashar al-Assad.
According to Syrian sources, Akbar has promised that India would help Syria with reconstruction. The two countries also agreed to upgrade their security consultations.
"As a growing power, India has a role to play in meeting the challenge of terrorism," Assad said.
