Indian military specialists have arrived in Russia and began their training in operation of the S-400 Triumf missile air defense systems, Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Deputy Director Vladimir Drozhzhov said during the Aero India 2021 expo.
"Indian specialists have arrived in Russia in January and began training in operation of this system," TASS cited him as saying.
Drozhzhov disclosed that shipment of S-400 "proceeds according to the schedule."
"The first regiment is expected to be shipped before the end of this year," the official said.
New Delhi announced its intention to purchase the S-400 in 2015. The contract on shipment of five regiment kits for $5.43 billion was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit in India in October 2018.
