The 2016 International Army Games (IAG) will serve to strengthen relations with Russia and facilitate the exchange of experience between the countries' troops, the military commander of the Iranian delegation to the Elbrus Ring competition, General Nuzar Nemati, said.
"We expect that this competition will strengthen relations between Russia and Iran, and the exchange of experience will continue," Sputnik cited Nemati as saying.
The Russian team is tipped to win the competition, 'however, the level of mountain training of all the teams participating in the contest is at a very high professional level," Nemati added.
After 12 of the special tasks, the Iranian team is in fourth place, while the Russian team is in the lead, followed by the Chinese and Kazakh teams.
The international stage of the contest will wrap up on August 11.
