Representatives of the coalition "Khojaly: Recognize for the sake of Reconciliation" arrived in Karabakh, where they honored the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy. Members of the delegation planted an olive tree at the site of the massacre of Azerbaijani civilians to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the genocide.

The delegation of the coalition "Khojaly: Recognize for the sake of Reconciliation" arrived in Karabakh and honored the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy.

Representatives of the coalition arrived at the "corridor of death", which is located 9.7 km from Khojaly. The Armenian side claimed that this road is a "humanitarian corridor" for the civilians of the settlement. But hundreds of citizens were shot on this route, which turned into a "corridor of death."

Members of the coalition planted an olive tree at the site of the massacre of Azerbaijani civilians, thus, paying a tribute to the memory of the innocent victims of the tragedy and personifying the coalition's call for "recognition and reconciliation." Near the tree, a banner was installed with the words of Munira Subašić, head of the Mothers of Srebrenica Association: "Without justice, there is no trust; without trust, there is no reconciliation."

At the site of the mass death of civilians in Khojaly, the head of the Italian Federation of Human Rights, Antonio Stango, addressing the media from the "corridor of death”, said that the internationally recognized evidence of the events that took place on February 26, 1992, was carefully recorded and is convincing and undeniable.

Stango stressed that peace and justice coming together provide momentum for overcoming the traumas associated with conflict, the consequences of war crimes and massive violations of international law. According to him, this is a solid foundation for peace.

He recalled that after the 44-day war between Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020, the leaders of the countries announced their readiness to reinstall peace in the region. Stango added that today is the time for active international mediation to end impunity and silence, restore justice for Khojaly and help the parties overcome this tragedy through dialogue, recognition and reconciliation.
