Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream party, says that the ruling team continues to work on the fourth wave of judicial reform, InterPressNews reports.
As Kobakhidze said after the party’s political board session today, the "Georgian Dream" calls on all the interested parties to get involved in the discussion of the fourth wave of reform.
"The ruling team continues to work on the fourth wave of judicial reform. A wide range of interested parties, including our international partners - the Council of Europe Office, the US Embassy, representatives of the EU and the German International Cooperation Society, are involved in the working process. With our joint effort, the fourth phase of the reform, which includes the issues related to the reform of the High Council of Justice and High School of Justice, disciplinary proceedings and overcrowded courts, will be immediately renewed and unconditionally completed by the end of the current parliamentary session. The issue of lifetime appointment of judges will also be discussed in the same format. We urge anyone who is actually interested in the strengthening of the independence of the judicial system to get openly and constructively engaged in the discussion on the fourth wave of the reform...The ruling team will act in accordance with the interests of the state and society and will create all conditions to ensure the independence of the judiciary and to increase public confidence in it," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
