Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan confirmed that the country agreed to allow Russia to use Iran's Nojeh airbase in Hamadan.
According to him, if the situation in Syria will require Russia to use this airbase, such an opportunity will be provided.
On August 22, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said at a press briefing in Tehran that Russia temporary can't use this base.
In early August, Russian military used Iranian airbase for the first time to attack militants in Syria. Before that, Russian long-range bombers used Russian airbases and frontline bombers - Hmeymim airbase in Syria.
