Iran and Syria have concluded an agreement on long-term cooperation in the field of electricity supply, the Iranian Ministry of Energy informs.

Tehran is reportedly counting on the export of electricity to the Syrian Arab Republic.

"We plan and intend to synchronize (work) of the power networks of Iran and Syria within three years, creating the necessary infrastructure for the implementation of this program," Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said noting that in the near future, the electricity supply between Iran and Syria will be established through Iraq.
