Eight people have died from swine flu in the Iranian province of Kerman, ISNA cited the vice-rector of the Kerman Medical University, Nozar Nakhaei, as saying.
"The number of infectious cases in Iran is expected to increase this year," he said, adding that educational activity needs to be carried out among the population in order to prevent swine flu cases.
The first case of swine flu was registered in Iran on June 14, 2009.
