Iran is independently producing pentane gas at an oil refinery on the island of Sirri in the Persian Gulf, the deputy director of plant Mohammad Reza Safari Rad stated today.
"In the conditions of a destabilized market of natural and liquefied gas, where the main exporters are Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which sell hydrocarbons at dumping prices, Iran has managed to start production of such a strategic and scarce hydrocarbon as pentane," TASS quoted the deputy director of the enterprise with reference to the Iranian Mehr news agency.
