Armenia's State Revenue Committee has prevented an attempt to smuggle in narcotic-like substances from Iran to Armenia, the SRC information and public relations division said.
The SRC officers at Armenia’s Agarak checkpoint on the border with Iran found 102.09 grams of a methamphetamine-like substance under the seat of an Iranian citizen who had arrived from Iran.
The inspection also found 29.08 grams of a heroin-like substance and 53 unlabeled pills, which, according to this Iranian national, were methadone, News.am reported.
A criminal case has been opened into this incident.
