Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have reached an understanding owing to IAEA chief Raphael Grossi’s visit to Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said.
"The visit of the IAEA director general to Tehran came in continuation of [the] use of diplomacy to resolve technical disputes," the diplomat was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency. "As a result, an understanding was reached between Iran and the IAEA," he said.
The spokesman did not provide details about the specific area of consensus. At the same time, he stressed that the Islamic Republic "considers diplomacy the best way to resolve disputes bilaterally and multilaterally". He also pointed out that Iran wants to stick to the path of negotiations to bring all parties, including the US administration, back to compliance with their commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Grossi arrived in Tehran on Friday. During his stay in the capital city, he held two rounds of talks with Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), and met with Iranian Foreign Minister.
