Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani noted that U.S. President Joe Biden's emphasis on pursuing a pressure policy is contrary to the U.S. claim of its desire to revive the nuclear deal.
Reacting to Biden's article, Kanaani stated that Biden's remarks were in line with the same path as Donald Trump's failed maximum pressure policy against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Noting that the previous U.S. government, by unilaterally withdrawing from the JCPOA, seriously harmed the strategy of multilateral diplomacy to resolve disputes, the senior Iranian diplomat added that the current U.S. administration is following Trump's approach by continuing to impose sanctions and economic pressure.
