Iran refuses to stop its space program

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzade addressed today the West's dissatisfaction with the launch of the Simorgh vehicle that delivered research equipment to the orbit of Earth. He recalled that Tehran is not prohibited from engaging in science, including in space.

”The UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which approved the conclusion of a nuclear deal with Iran in 2015, does not prohibit Tehran from engaging in space research, including launching satellites," IRNA quotes the spokesman as saying.
