The latest US sanctions against Iran are illegal, the press secretary of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Jaber Ansari, said.
"Such sanctions are illegal, arbitrary and unilateral. The Islamic Republic of Iran has already warned the US administration about it," TASS cited him as saying.
"The US officials have mentioned before that the Iranian missile program is not related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). And there is nothing to prevent Iran from pursuing its legitimate right to reinforce its defense strength and national security," Ansari stressed, adding that Iran continues to work on its defensive missile program, despite the US efforts to prevent it.
