Iran sold 32 tons of heavy water to the United States for the period since January of 2016, which is used in nuclear reactors of the corresponding type, Iranian media wrote.
The deputy head of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Abbas Araghchi, reported that heavy water reserves were "sold" to the United States. Financial details of the deal were not specified.
Araghchi also did not explain why heavy water was sold only to the US, and not to other countries of the "six negotiators", who participated in the signing of the deal on the Iranian nuclear program, TASS reports referring to the ISNA agency.
