Iran to purchase all land for Rasht-Astara railway by April

Iran will be able to begin construction of the Rasht-Astara railway, necessary to connect the Azerbaijani portion of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) with the Iranian rail network, as early as April, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali informed.

Tehran plans to complete the purchase of land for the construction of the final section of the western branch of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), the railway between the Iranian cities of Rasht and Astara, by April, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali announced.

In an interview with TASS, the Iranian diplomat emphasized Tehran's serious commitment to implementing the Rasht-Astara railway project to fully operationalize the western branch of the INSTC, which runs from Russia to Iran through Azerbaijan.
