Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian believes that the land border between Iran and Azerbaijan, closed due to the coronavirus, should be opened. He stated this during telephone conversations with his colleague from Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday.
"Amir Abdollahian stressed that it is necessary to open the land border between Iran and Azerbaijan, given that both countries have taken the situation with the coronavirus spread under control", the press service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said that the republic "welcomes the Iranian companies' activity in restoring the liberated regions [of Karabakh]".
"I hope that after the decision of the Operative Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the land border will be opened soon", Bayramov said.
