Iran will seek extradition from Canada of former head of National Bank

According to the head of Interpol in Tehran, Mahmoud Reza Hawari, Iran intends to seek the extradition from Canada of the former head of the National Bank of Iran, Masood Rezvani, who was  accused of large-scale embezzlement.

"We intend to seek the extradition at the ministerial level,’’ RIA Novosti cites him as saying.

Recall that Mahmoud Reza Hawari is suspected of embezzling more than $2.5 billion of public and private funds received by him and his accomplices as loans from public and private banks in Iran.
