Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei announced that the volume of Tehran-Moscow trade transactions has increased considerably since March 20 and visas issued to tourists and businessmen have also increased by 100%.
Mehdi Sanaei, who was addressing a conference titled 'Sustainable Presence in Russia' in Moscow on Tuesday, cited official announcement by the Russian government as saying that Iran and Russia have boosted trade transactions by 70% over the past six months, Fars News Agency reports.
He said that following agreements to facilitate visa issuance for nationals of the two countries, particularly for businessmen, it is expected that some visa-related problems of Iranian passengers and traders would be completely removed in the near future.
Sanaei underlined that the signing of documents between the two countries, specially in the trade and economic sectors, and also the setting up of Russia's 5-billion-dollar credit line that has also been approved by the Iranian parliament indicate the determination of the two countries to develop ties.
