Iranian Foreign Minister holds telephone conversation with UN Secretary General

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and United Nations Secretary General António Guterres discussed the latest situation in the region and in the world in a telephone conversation, IRNA reports.

During the conversation, Guterres stressed the importance of continuing the Vienna talks and called diplomacy the best way to resolve differences in the Iranian nuclear deal.

In turn, Amir Abdollahian called the United States and three European countries' actions in submitting a resolution against Iran to the UN Board of Governors political and hasty. In addition to this, he emphasized the complete lifting of the blockade in Yemen, expressing support for the continuation of the truce. The Iranian Foreign Minister called this a precondition for a dialogue between the Yemeni parties.

The Foreign Minister referred to the Israeli attack on an airport in Syria, calling this measure a violation of the UN Charter's principles.
