Iranian Oil Minister resigns

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accepted the resignation of Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, the presidential administration's PR office said.

Hamid Bovard, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, has been appointed acting oil minister.

Paknejad had led the ministry since August 21, 2024, overseeing oil and gas sector development, production increases, and the restoration of petrochemical plants damaged by Israeli strikes.
