According to media reports, Baghdad has decided to nationalize the operations of the West Qurna-2 oilfield, owned by Lukoil.

Basra, Iraq's state-owned oil company, will temporarily assume management of the West Qurna-2 oilfield, owned by Russia's Lukoil, representatives of the company report.

The Iraqi government has decided to nationalize operations at the oilfield to ensure its uninterrupted operation amid US sanctions against Lukoil.
