Israeli army shelled two surveillance towers affiliated with the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in the northern Gaza Strip Sunday overnight.
The Gaza Health Ministry said that seven Palestinian demonstrators were injured by Israeli army fire in the Gaza Strip.
The fresh clashes increased the toll of injured Palestinians to 19 since the 'Great March of Return' demonstrations in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip began on March 30.
The Israeli army, for its part, claimed in a written statement this morning that the shelling had come after one Israeli soldier was wounded by shelling during the demonstrations, Anadolu Agency reported.
