Following the attempted assassination of former U.S. president Donald Trump ministers in Israel have been quick to compare incitement against Prime Minister Netanyahu to threats against Trump, claiming that the Israeli PM could also face an assassination attempt.
Communications Minister Shlomo Khari claimed that the situation in Israel was “doubly serious” as in the U.S.
“The assassination attempt on President Trump comes following unending incitement against him in the U.S. The serious incitement against the prime minister, his wife, and son, is closer than ever to being implemented,” Karhi said.
Earlier in the meeting, the Israeli PM condemned the attempt on Trump’s life, declaring that the shooting was “not only a heinous crime [but] also an attempt to assassinate American democracy.”
