Israeli Health Minister Yaakov Litzman tendered his letter of resignation on Sunday morning over government-approved train works done on Shabbat, Ynetnews reports.
Litzman's resignation comes following the government's decision to continue with necessary train work on the Jewish day of rest.
While Litzman quit his ministerial position, he remains in the Knesset and his party remains in the coalition government.
