The former prime minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, confirms that Irakli Gharibashvili consulted with him, but he had nothing to do with Gharibashvili’s decision to resign.
"Many team members were confused, because they were not informed about this issue. We had several meetings on this issue and we had similar views. Irakli accelerated his resignation, it could have happened later," Georgia Online cited him as saying.
"It was his personal decision. We had consultations, but he acted as he wished. I had no means or mechanisms to force him to resign," Ivanishvili said.
