Jaffar Al-Sayigh: Islamic Games in Baku is a chance for all Muslims to get closer

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku give chance for Muslims from all over the world to get to know each other in a positive way, gymnast from Saudi Arabia Jaffar Al-Sayigh said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

"It's great that Muslims from all over the world can get to know each other better, get together and get closer. I think this is a great opportunity for all of us," he stressed.

He thanked the organizers for holding the Islamic Games. "This is the first time I'm in Baku, and I really enjoy everything here. The arena, the organization, the atmosphere - everything is great," he said.

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
