Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Kyrgyzstan started with the official meeting ceremony in the Ala Archa State Residence.
Putin’s meeting with Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov was carried out under the new rules of the republic’s state protocol. A marble building had been constructed for official meetings with state leaders in front of the congress hall of the state residence. The Kyrgyz president arrived first to the congress hall, and then Putin arrived in an Aurus, TASS reported.
The Russian and Kyrgyz leaders were welcomed by the guard of honor of the Kyrgyz National Guard and the hymns of the two states. Putin welcomed the guardsmen in Kyrgyz. After the ceremony the state leaders went to carry out face-to-face negotiations.
It is the first visit of a foreign state leader to Kyrgyzstan in the last few years.
