U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft completed his diplomatic mission in Moscow, the embassy said.
"He's flying to the US this morning," RIA Novosti cited the statement as saying,
Tefft was confirmed as the United States Ambassador to Russia on July 31, 2014 following Michael McFaul's resignation.
The US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on Tuesday approved Jon Huntsman Jr as US Ambassador to Moscow. Now Huntsman’s candidature is to be approved by the Senate.
