Azerbaijani judokas Vugar Talibov and Aytaj Gardashkhanli reach semifinals of judo competitions as part of the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku.
Aytaj Gardashkhanli (57 kg) gained a victory over a Romanian judoka in 1/4 finals, and Vugar Talibov (73 kg) defeated a Czech athlete in 1/4 finals.
Another Azerbaijani judoka Metin Rzazade (66 kg) lost to Russian athlete Saikhan Shabikhanov in 1/4 finals.
The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
