President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that trade tensions between China and the U.S. would negatively affect the investment climate around the world.
"If investors don't have the feeling that this problem can be solved soon, then the appetite for investments on both sides of the Atlantic and throughout the world is weakening", Reuters cited Juncker as saying.
According to him, a significant portion of global challenges should be seen in the context of the clashes between the two countries.
Juncker also noted that the European Commission is in nearly daily contact with the U.S. administration.
The statement comes amid an ongoing tariff war between Washington and Beijing, as U.S. President Donald Trump has previously warned that he would increase tariffs on $325 billion worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25% starting on Friday.
