The environmental action entitled ‘Clean Elbrus’ to clean tourist places in Kabardino-Balkaria was held today in the republic with the participation of 150 volunteers.
"We took out about one ton of garbage from the slopes of Elbrus that occurred after the snow,” the head of the Republican Children's and Youth Public Organization of Volunteers of the KBR "Help Your Neighbor”, Alim Sizhazhev, said.
According to him, the purpose of the action is to attract the attention of youth to the problems of ecology and environmental protection, as well as to the issues of conservation, rational use of the unique natural complexes of the Elbrus region and increase of the ecological culture of the population.
