Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said that he has put sanctions against US President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel a long time ago.
"If they come to our republic, we will instantly arrest them and put in jail,” he said, adding that all their possible accounts on Chechen territory will be frozen, RT reported.
In December 2017, Washington added five Russian nationals, including Ramzan Kadyrov, to the sanctions list under the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act. US officials accused Kadyrov of "human rights violations."
