Tbilisi Mayor-Elect Kakha Kaladze will officially start working on the post together with his team tomorrow, November 13, InterPressNews reported citing Tbilisi City Hall.
"Under the Georgian legislation and Georgia’s Election Code, the authority of a newly-elected mayor takes effect while the previous one’s authority is ceased on the 11th day since the election results summarizing document was signed. This year the document was published on November 1, summarizing the local elections held on October 21, 2017. Relevantly, the authority of the Mayor-Elect will be recognized on November 12 that also implies that the previous heads and governors’ authority will be ceased. The Mayor-Elect will start working together with his team on November 13," the report says.
