Armenia's former prime minister Karen Karapetyan has left the post of the first deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, the member of the party’s executive board and vice-speaker of the parliament, Eduard Sharmazanov, said.
"Karen Karapetyan is a mature political activist, and he decides what post to hold," ARKA cited Sharmazanov as saying. "He went out taking into account new political things. Besides, Karapetyan thinks that he is not so active in the current political processes and finds it no just to hold so high position in the party while he is not actively involved in them."
The vice-speaker of the parliament said there is no any talk about departure from the party and added that he knows nothing about Karapetyan’s further plans an also about probability of establishment of a new party.
