Kazakh synchro pair wins gold at Baku World Cup

Kazakh gymnasts Pirmammad Aliyev and Danil Mussabayev have won gold medals in synchronized pairs' event at the World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku. They scored 51,400 points in the finals of the World Cup, Trend reports.

Silver went to Russian gymnasts Mikhail Melnik and Oleg Selyutin (50,5850 points) and bronze went to Japan’s Katsufumi Tasaki and Tetsuya Sotomura (50.700 points).

Azerbaijani gymnasts Ilya Grishunin and Oleg Piunov scored 48,450 points in the event.

The first World Cup in Trampoline and Tumbling of the new Olympic cycle takes place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. The competition is attended by 85 gymnasts from 15 countries. Their performances are evaluated under the new rules, which came into force in 2017. The qualifications are held on Febraury 18th, the finals will be held on February 19th.
