Kazakhstan, China introduce visa-free regime

A mutual visa-free regime is being introduced between China and Kazakhstan. Citizens of both countries will be able to stay without a visa in the territory of another country for 30 days. The visa-free agreement will be signed during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to China.

The authorities of Kazakhstan and China intend to introduce a mutual visa-free regime, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry informs.

It is reported that the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft document "On the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on mutual exemption from visa requirements."

According to the document, citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to stay without a visa in China, and citizens of China in Kazakhstan for 30 days from the moment of crossing the border and 90 days for a 180-day period.

If citizens of one of the countries intend to stay for longer, they must apply for the appropriate visa before entering the territory of the state.

This agreement will be signed during the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China, which is scheduled for May 18, 2023.
