Kazakhstan and Iran agreed to cooperate in the field of tourism and participation of the Islamic Republic in the international exhibition Expo 2017 in Astana.
A delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, EXPO-2017 Commissioner Rapil Zhoshybayev, visited Iran on November 9-10.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Deputy Vice President of Iran, Morteza Rahmani. They discussed tourism development issues, visa regime simplification, implementation of tourist group visas and oncoming opening of direct flights between Astana and Tehran.
In addition, Zhoshybayev and Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Hossein Esfahbodi, signed an agreement on Iran's participation in Expo 2017, TASS reports.
