The volume of traffic between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan can be doubled. This was stated during a meeting of representatives of Uzbek and Kazakh sides in Shymkent, the press service of the Uzbek Railways reports.
The parties discussed increasing the capacity of the Saryagash MGSP at the Ok Kuprik station in Uzbekistan and Saryagash in Kazakhstan. It was noted that in 2022 the traffic volume through the MGSP amounted to 32 million tons.
In addition to this, the parties announced the completion of the Ok Kuprik station's reconstruction. It will increase the station's throughput from 32 to 60 million tons per year.
The representatives also discussed the preliminary exchange of data on cargo brought to the MGSP and the inspections' reduction.
