The Kazakhstan cosmodrome Baikonur can be added to the UNESCO World Heritage List - Roskosmos made such an offer, Executive Secretary of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO Grigory Ordzhonikidze, said.
"The Chairman of Roskosmos appealed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO, Sergei Lavrov, with a proposal to promote the complex of structures of the Baikonur cosmodrome and, in particular, the Gagarin launch in the World Heritage List as a joint nomination of Russia and Kazakhstan," RIA Novosti quotes Ordzhonikidze as saying.
