In accordance with the article of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, published today, which set out the key principles of privatization of the state-owned companies of the republic, the Ministry of the Economy has published a detailed list of major enterprises and organizations which are in state ownership and are subjected to sale in priority order.
Among them are the international airports of Astana, Pavlodar, Aktobe, Atyrau and Korkyt Ata in Kyzylorda, the Aktau International Sea Trade Port, the airlines 'Air Astana' and 'Qazaq Air', the organizations 'Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary', 'Kazgeologiya', 'The International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation 'Khorgos'.
The 'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy' railway, oil and gas 'KazMunaiGas', atomic energy 'Kazatomprom', 'Samruk-Energo', mining concerns 'Tau-Ken Samruk', 'Kazakhtelecom' and 'Kazpost' will be put on the market through the IPO.
The 'Daughters' of the largest companies will also be subject to privatization, particularly those belonging to 'KazMunayGas' – KMG International N.V., the Atyrau Petroleum Refinery, the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, 'PetroKazakhstan Oil Products', the marine shipping company 'Kazmortransflot'. 'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy', in its turn, will sell 'Kaztemirtrans', 'Passenger Transportations', 'Tulpar Talgo', 'Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty' and 'Electriclokomotive Kurastyru Zauyty'.
Astana Solar, Kazakhstan Solar Silicon, 'Caustic', 'Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan', 'Food Contract Corporation' and many other companies will also be privatized.
